Matthew PlatzCarbene and Physical Organic Chemistry

Dr. Robert A Moss was a distinguished and productive chemist. He was a renaissance man with wide ranging interests in Judaica, Sherlock Holmes, Music, Philately and Baseball. He published in all these areas in addition to his 430 peer reviewed papers in Chemistry. He mentored 61 doctoral students, 50 post-doctoral fellows and edited 8 books in Physical Organic Chemistry. In this lecture just a few of his enduring contributions to his discipline will be highlighted: carbenoids, carbene philicity, carbene complexes and the absolute kinetic of carbene reactions with alkenes.

Hosted by Professor Jeehiun Lee
