Ph.D. Student (2026 - Present)
Akila Senarathne received his B.Sc. (Honors) degree in Chemistry from the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. His undergraduate research focused on the synthesis and characterization of novel Schiff base dyes and their integration into various fabrics for the development of smart textile materials. He entered the Ph.D. program at Rutgers University as a graduate student and joined the research group of Prof. Jing Li. His research interests center on the synthesis and characterization of inorganic–organic hybrid materials.
