TurtleBayThe official setting for The 66th Calorimetry Conference is the Turtle Bay Resort, which is situated on the tranquil North Shore of Oahu with spectacular panoramic views of both Kawela Bay and Turtle Bay. In addition to magnificent beachfront property, the luxury resort features landscaped pools, championship golf courses, tennis courts, horseback riding, a surfing school, hiking and mountain bike trails, and world-class dining. Colleagues are encouraged to invite family members and/or accompanying guests to enjoy all of the amenities that Turtle Bay Resort offers on its extensive 880 acre property.

Our primary objective is to maintain reasonable accommodation rates given the luxurious oceanfront setting. The Calorimetry Conference has negotiated an attractive rate on guest accommodations that are identical to the lodging fees secured for the previous Joint Meeting of CALCON and JSCTA at Turtle Bay Resort in 2007. The single/double occupancy rate of $ 200/night for an Ocean View Room represents a 50% discount relative to the standard rate offered during the summer season. Attendees must reserve their guest rooms at Turtle Bay Resort by MAY 01, 2011 to ensure accommodations at these specially negotiated conference prices.

STUDENT ACCOMMODATIONS

The Conference Organizing Committee strongly encourages registrants to consider inviting their students to attend CALCON 2011. The 66th Calorimetry Conference is subsidizing student registration fees (i.e., $ 300) and arranging shared accommodations to demonstrate our organization’s commitment to actively promote young scientist participation. Students may share a room at the standard Double occupancy rate of $ 100 per night or elect Triple ($ 83.50 per night) or Quad ($ 75 per night) occupancy to reduce their overall lodging rates. The combination of reduced registration fees and shared accommodations allows students to attend The 66th Calorimetry Conference at an affordable rate of $ 675 (e.g., $ 375 for five nights lodging at Quad occupancy plus $ 300 conference registration fee). Similarly, conferees traveling on a restricted budget may select the standard Double occupancy rate to attend CALCON 2011 at a reasonable cost of $ 1,095 (e.g., $ 500 for five nights lodging plus $ 595 conference registration fee). Conferees are advised to reserve accommodations early to ensure availability of their preferred lodging option.
