01:160:488:01: Grand Challenges in Catalysis Across Disciplines is a new course designed for research students seeking to understand the chemical concepts in catalysis through case studies across scientific disciplines. Case studies will be presented taken from the disciplines of biology, geology and chemistry performed by enzymes/metabolic pathways, minerals/heterogenous catalysts and molecular catalysts, respectively. Prerequisites: One or more semesters each of General Chemistry and Organic Chemistry, plus either Inorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Geochemistry, or the instructor’s permission.
