Analytical Chemist 1 - Airborne Labs International
The Analytical Chemist will be responsible for performing assigned daily activities and operations associated with all laboratory related functions. This includes, but may not be limited to performing analytical testing services, research and development, associated technical support functions as well as occasional field sampling and hazmat shipping activities at customer sites. The Analytical Chemist works under the guidance of the Analytical Operations Manager and is responsible for working in cooperation with the operations of other Analytical Chemists on staff.
The Analytical Chemist in cooperation with the Analytical Operations Manager shall also act as a trainer for less experienced, or new laboratory staff members and helps to ensure a clean, safe work environment for all laboratory staff and lab-activity conformance to SOP, federal, state and local government policies.
The Analytical Chemist, along with other laboratory staff shall be responsible for performance of routine calibration and quality assurance functions associated with the performance of their assigned laboratory-related customer sample testing and contractual R & D projects. The Analytical Chemist is also responsible for performing routine repair and maintenance (where appropriate) on laboratory instruments and equipment as well as ensuring an adequate inventory of all needed supplies, support gases and calibration standards are present for the smooth performance of routine, daily laboratory operations.
Key personal skills & requirements: BS in Science (Chemistry preferred), chemical instrumentation (GC preferred), + PC data station experience, good technical writing skills, record keeping, communication, mathematical, & mechanical skills, experience in performing chemical analysis (gas testing preferred), but will accept science graduates with a strong analytical chemistry & academic record.
