Our
research combines theory with experiment By combining laser experiments
with accurate calculations, new information on some very well studied molecules
is obtained, information that could never be found from one without the
other. For example, this approach shows that new ways of thinking about
methyl torsion are needed.
Current
experiments include zero kinetic energy excitation
of the torsional spectra of radical cations in conjunction with
resonance multiphoton ionization spectroscopy in supersonic jets.
