• BioMaPS Institute
  The Institute's mission is to promote research and education at the interface between the Biological, Mathematical, and Physical Sciences; to stimulate interactions among experimentalists and theoreticians working on problems in quantitative biology; and to train a new generation of scientists using the latest computational and modeling tools.

• The Center for Advanced Biotechnology and Medicine (CABM)
  CABM was established in 1985 to advance knowledge in the life sciences for the improvement of human health. CABM is jointly administered by the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey and by Rutgers. Faculty conduct basic research in cell and developmental biology, molecular genetics, and structural biology to improve understanding of fundamental life processes. CABM researchers interact with clinical scientists to bring laboratory discoveries rapidly to patient care.

• Center for Molecular Biophysics and Biophysical Chemistry
  Many important contributions in molecular biophysics are a synthesis of biology, chemistry, mathematics, and physics which are not found in a single traditional discipline. The molecular biophysics curriculum therefore goes beyond the curricula of individual academic disciplines and sets it own guidelines for courses and the character of dissertation research. The requirements are consistent with those of existing graduate programs so that the students can earn a Ph.D. in one of the major academic disciplines with a concentration in molecular biophysics.

• Laboratory for Surface Modification (LSM)
  The LSM is a multidisciplinary endeavor, which provides a focus for research in basic and applied studies of high technology surfaces and interfaces. LSM brings together over 20 faculty in different departments (Physics and Astronomy, Chemistry and Chemical Biology, Ceramics and Materials Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Chemical Engineering). In addition, there are over 50 visiting scientists, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students involved in various research projects.

• New Jersey Center for Biomaterials
  The New Jersey Center for Biomaterials (CBM) is a formal consortium of New Jersey's premier institutions of higher education, dedicated to improving health care and the quality of life by developing advanced biomedical products for tissue repair and replacement, and the delivery of drugs. The Center coordinates clinical, technical and academic resources to develop the next generation of biomaterials.

• The Nucleic Acid Database Project (NDB)
  The NDB is a resource for nucleic acid research and education. The NDB assembles and distributes information about the three-dimensional structures of nucleic acids through a variety of resources, including a searchable database, Atlas, and software. The NDB was founded in 1992 by Helen M. Berman, Rutgers University, Wilma K. Olson, Rutgers University, and David Beveridge, Wesleyan University.

• Protein Data Bank
  The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is an information portal for researchers and students interested in structural biology. At its center is the PDB archive -- the single international repository for the processing and distribution of experimentally determined three-dimensional macromolecular structure data. The Protein Data Bank (PDB) is operated by Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and the San Diego Supercomputer Center at the University of California, San Diego -- two members of the Research Collaboratory for Structural Bioinformatics (RCSB).

• The Waksman Institute
  The Waksman Institute's mission today is to conduct research in microbial molecular genetics, developmental molecular genetics, plant molecular genetics, and structural and computational biology. It also is a catalyst for general university initiatives, including undergraduate and graduate education, as well as a life science infrastructure, and a public service function for the State of New Jersey.
