The First Semiconductor Bulk Material That Emits Direct White Light

White light emission A unique type of inorganic-organic hybrid semiconductor bulk materials are capable of emitting direct white light. Their photoluminescence properties can be tuned precisely and systematically by modifying structures and composition. They could be used as single-material light emitting source in high efficiency white-light emitting diodes (Wooseok Ki, Jing Li; J. Am. Chem. Soc. 2008, 130, ASAP)
